Sugarland's Incredible Machine Tour Week in Review: Kristian and Ellis Paul on songwriting
Kristian's old friend Ellis Paul opened three shows with us this weekend, and Sugarland TV sat down with the pair to talk about writing and the challenges of crafting a "simple song."
Have you tried your hand at songwriting? Who are some of YOUR favorite songwriters? Talk about your process, your inspirations, or post examples of your work in the comments!

Thanks for sharing behind the scenes, its So interesting.
Trying to write a song which is completely distinctive and yet completely
universal must be a monumental task.especially dealing with such fragmented
taste
I think we all have unfeigned admiration for your song writing and great performances.Y'all are First Class

I love seeing Kristian in songwriting mode :) Plus I love the song! It's great to see Jennifer and Kristian in their niche when they perform, but it's also really cool to get to see this "other side" of what they do. I'm really into the behind the scenes work of things, so thanks for sharing that with us!

Wonderful video! Thanks so much for sharing.
I too try to boil down complex concepts into simple lines (less is more) of verse and melody that paint a picture. Whether a fallen soldier in Afghanistan talking to his love from a letter delivered too late –to the agony and ecstasy of everyday LIFE…here's a couple examples on Youtube…
