We're so excited that we just had to share this news! Have you heard about ABC's "Duets?" Well, our very own Jennifer Nettles will be featured on it not as a judge, but as a competitor. We played in North Carolina for two nights this weekend and after an amazing first show in Charlotte we didn't think it could get any better. After all, Charlotte set the bar pretty high!
You Raleigh, were loud and on your feet for the entire show. So loud that during the show Jennifer took a minute to comment on how pretty you sounded and later called the sound of your voices "madness" (in a good way of course)!
Hilarious props go to the creator of the sign that read, "If you play 'We Run' Jennifer, we owe you a 1927 bottle of Madeira wine and Kristian, we owe you a Star Wars robe and light saber!" Kristian promised to wear the robe on stage and Jennifer to wear her hair like Princess Leia but she would not wear the gold bikini on stage!
Please note: we do not take bribes to play songs! Even if the bribes involve Star Wars robes and 1927 bottles of Madeira wine.
We usually like to keep the encore songs a secret but this one we have to tell you about! As you may already know, Dave Stewart (you may know him from the band The Eurythmics) is joining us on this tour. Together for one of our encore songs we sang "Would I Lie to You." And well, we can't lie to you, it was amazing!
Thank you for being a part of the show Raleigh! We will see you next time. Use the comments below to give us your concert report. Tell us about your night! -
Charlotte, you were an incredible part of the "In Your Hands" tour last night when we played at the Charlotte Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
We were amazed to see many of you take the "create your own sign challenge" to a whole new level when you held up a huge banner requesting "Little Miss." We couldn't miss it! Or what about the Do Not Disturb sign or all of the signs with blinking lights? Great craftmanship! As Jennifer would say, it must have been a crazy "crafternoon!"
About halfway through singing "Baby Girl", Jennifer stopped the band. She saw 9 year old Anna Buzzard in the crowd singing EVERY SINGLE WORD. So we put Anna on stage and that's the picture you see in the blog. Sista had soul!
How about the band's request "Ice Ice Baby"? And what about our opening acts? Did you enjoy the talented Canaan Smith and Dave Stewart?
That's it for now Charlotte. So many great memories to remember you by. Now it's your turn. Were you in Charlotte last evening? Let us know in the comments below and share your stories!
