Yesterday morning, Dave FM‘s Mara Davis sat down with our very own Kristian Bush to enjoy a little chit chat prior to tonight’s Alpharetta show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

Aside from choosing an hour worth of groovy tunes like his favorites REM and The National, Kristian also gave some insight into why he chose these songs as well as how the current “In Your Hands” tour is going.

The first song Kristian chose was a tune by Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, Southern rock band from Atlanta, GA. Of course he had to represent the city of his alma mater, but he also explained the reason for this choice in an illustrative, Kristian-esque, 80’s lovin’ way.

“I remember the first time I snuck into the White Dot. I was way too young to be going in there, and I went in there to see this band play. It was as if it blew back every hair on my face.” Low and behold the band, playing in a small dingy venue at the time, was none other than Drivin’ N’ Cryin’.
