Keep You
Music has a way of speaking about moments in our lives as if the person writing the song lived it. It puts lyrics and a melody to the very most intimate experiences a soul can go through; whether it be life or death, succumbing or conquering, joy or pain, love or hate. An artist who has the ability to bring the lyrics and melody together and make a song has such an unbelievable gift to offer those of us who cant. This song and Sugarland have touched so many dealing with the loss of someone they dearly loved and still love painfully. I sit here in awe and tears that someone wrote what i feel...that someone else understands. Strangely it is a comfort to know I am not alone. Thank you for the performance in the video... it is raw and emotional and fits perfectly with the song which makes it even more identifiable for those of us who needed this song. All my love and gratitude... keep singing and writing!

The songs we hear occupy a certain place within us when they so closely resemble events of life which we have experienced ourselves. This song is eerily similar to just such an event in my past and which still lives with me today. In fact, certain lines of the song so closely match my situation it makes me wonder how this could happen to two different sets of people who have never met; not only the basic situation but some of the specific details. I want to thank Kristian, Jennifer and Bobby for sharing this incredible song not only for it's entertainment value but more importantly, for the way it has helped me, to some degree heal from my past (and present).
