Statement from Our Manager
"Sadly when a tragedy occurs, people want to point fingers and try to sensationalize the disaster. The single most important thing to Sugarland, are their fans. Their support and love over the past 9 years has been unmatched. For anyone to think otherwise is completely devastating to them," states Gail Gellman, Sugarland's manager.

I was at the Indiana State Fair that night and it was not Sugarlands fault at all!!! No one could have known or guessed what ended up happening that night. If anyone is to blame it is the weather and the company that put up the stage. That stage swayed earlier in the week as the high school bands were performing and as a rainstorm came closer it swayed even more, Maybe that should have been a hint to check out the structure then, I do not blame Sugarland at all for that night it was just a freak accident of nature and I can't wait to see them in Louisville with my niece once again!!!

Announce that the concert is going to start in a couple of min. A couple of min later the thing falls down.....
This got blown out of proportion by media Headlines that were wrong and inflammatory Period. Over the next few years the investigations will reveal what went wrong and where responsibility lays. Then those responsible will have insurance companies pay the bills for lawyers and medical and life needs.

I was in INDY on the track! I along with everyone else that was at the concert made our own decision to be there! Some people need to take responsibility for their actions and not blame others. I love Sugarland and this was NOT their fault. Some need to GROW UP and take responsibility for themselves!

Life is full of choices. I have been to outdoor music festivals and there was one year that a storm caught the entire crowd including Kenny Chesney off guard. High winds, water above your ankles rushing past you, clothes soaked, cell phones ruined etc. No one's strength and readiness can compare to the strength of mother nature. These are risks we take when we choose to attend outdoor concerts in the summer.
As tragic as this is, if anyone had any idea how epic (in a bad way) this storm was going to be, the show would have been canceled with out a doubt. Sugarland is the one music group that I can say confidently, always has their fans in mind. I'm sure the gravity of this tragedy carries with it, an insermountable weight of grief and sadness for their fans that were injured or whom lost their lives.
This is something Kristian and Jennifer will carry with them forevermore, because they are good people. This is not their fault nor responsibility therefore not their cross to bear. I'm sure no one could ever grasp the sadness they carry in their hearts because of this sad event.

Jennifer and Kristian,
Your true fans will back you 100% always, it is seen so evidently in everything that you do the appreciation that you have for us the your fans and we so appreciate that. It is hurtful to know that people would accuse you of not caring, that is a harmful statement to make about any human being in regards to such a tragedy. You are loved and supported in this time of difficult. May God protect you from harsh statements such as that one.
love.

I don't believe for one minute that Jennifer, kristian, or any member of their organization blame the fans for this tragedy, or that they would in any way have put their fans in harms way. It was an act of nature that no one could have known would happen. Lawyer greed and media hype is all this is. Stay strong Sugarland, your true fans back you 100%. Proud to be a Sugarland fan!!!!

Small town Jericho, I hear ya..I feel the same way about when other tragic events occur, such as the death of Michael Jackson, Whitney, AnnaNicole, Amy Winehouse etc...the media is always trying to BLAME someone....I know it's completely different that our Accident in Indiana, but you get my point...it's not about the blame...the biggest one to blame here is the weather...then maybe whoever constructs the stage...they are naming SL because they are what will make headlines..and it goes without saying that we ALL feel for those who were injured or lost loved ones..unimaginable....WE LOVE U SL

While we all agree that the events that happened at Indy were extremely tragic I need to point something out. And please understand I do not mean for this to be unsympathetic to those hurt or worse. But this has been going on for a long time in our country and I really feel the need to speak up. Too many of our citizens have decided that their personal protection is somebody elses responsibility. I am not a big political person and in fact this is the first time I have ever spoken up but our government has brain washed us into thinking that we must constantly be protected from ourselves. That is why we have entities like OSHA, FEMA, Department of Labor, EPA, FDA etc etc I'm so sorry for those who were hurt but I was taught when a storm was coming to seek shelter and get out of the way. It is common sense people! When we need railings to stop us from falling off of cliffs it has gone to far, I apologize for the long post but I really felt the need to vent. Accidents and tragedies will continue to happen through out the world and unfortunately there will never be anything we can do to stop them. But if you pay attention to your surroundings and take some personal responsibilities hopefully they can be mitigated. Don't ever put your safety and the safety of your family and friends in the hands of others. I love sugarland and the whole Sugarland Family and truly hope we collectivley never ever go through something like this again. You are Loved
